Cereus hildmannianus
A night-flowering cactus with large white flowers appearing in the spring and summer. The flowers only last one night and frequented by nectar-feeding moths and as they remain open in the early morning often visited by bees. Once pollinated, the red, juicy fruits are edible and known locally as pitaya.
